Can Steelers contain Rawls?
Can Thomas Rawls put on another show on Sunday and lead the Seattle Seahawks past the Pittsburgh Steelers?
According to oddsmakers at MyBookie.ag, the Seahawks are favored at home today, as they are getting odds of -3.5 points against the Steelers. The over/under total for the game has been set at 45.5 points. These two meet at 4:25PM ET in the CBS Game of the Week.
Rawls steps into the spotlight for the 5-5 Seahawks due to the hernia injury to Marshawn Lynch that will have him sidelined for most of the rest of the regular season. Rawls, an undrafted rookie from Central Michigan, has filled in nicely for Lynch during the season and is actually the team’s leading rusher with 604 yards and two touchdowns. Last week, in a 29-13 win over the 49ers, Rawls ran for 209 yards on 30 carries. He has eclipsed 100 yards in three of the four games he has started, and Seattle is 3-1 when he starts.
Rawls will be tested on Sunday as he faces off with a Pittsburgh defense that ranks sixth in the NFL in run defense. The Steelers are giving up just 93 rushing yards per game and coming off a bye week, so their defense should be rather fresh. Pittsburgh has won two straight coming into today to get to 6-4 on the year, which is impressive considering the team has not had Ben Roethlisberger or Le’Veon Bell for most of the season.
