(The Spread) – The Panthers are favored for only the second time this season when they host the Redskins on Sunday.
WASHINGTON: The Redskins are in the midst of a quarterback controversy after Rex Grossman was benched last Sunday following his four-interception performance against the Eagles. As of this writing coach Mike Shanahan has not made a decision on which quarterback he’ll start against the Panthers in Week 7. With the loss last week to Philadelphia, Washington is now 3-2 on the year and 3-2 against the spread. The under has hit in four of the Skins’ five games this season and Grossman leads the team with 1,132 yards passing.
CAROLINA: The Panthers fell to NFC South rival Atlanta 31-17 last Sunday at the Georgia Dome, marking only the second time Carolina failed to cover the spread this season. Carolina is now 1-5 overall and 4-2 against the spread, while the over has hit in four of the Panthers’ first six games.

(Carolina was also a 3.5-point favored in Week 3 against the Jaguars.)
