RGIII injured, Redskins remain long shots to win Super Bowl

RGIII injured in preseason game

LANDOVER, MD (The Spread) – Despite his team finding a way to beat the Lions on Thursday, it was a rough night for Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III.

RGIII left Thursday night’s 21-17 win over Detroit in the second quarter. He suffered a concussion and a stinger in his shoulder, and was otherwise battered throughout the course of the night. The signal-caller wind up completing just two of five passes for 8 yards and was sacked three times. He was also hit on six pass attempts.

“We’ll have to wait and see,” coach Jay Gruden said about RGIII’s health. “I would imagine, depending on how long he is out, he is still going to be our starter. We have to wait and go through the whole process and see how he recovers, see how fast he recovers. I have no idea as far as third preseason game, fourth one, right now.”

Kirk Cousins and Colt McCoy are the backup quarterbacks in Washington.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book GT Bets, the Redskins are 100/1 long shots to win the 2016 Super Bowl. They were 125/1 long shots last week, so somehow their odds have improved despite obvious question marks at quarterback and along the offensive line.
