RGIII won’t play vs. Ravens, Redskins underdogs in Baltimore on Saturday

RGIII won’t play Saturday vs. Ravens

BALTIMORE, MD (The Spread) – Robert Griffin III won’t play tonight when the Redskins visit the Ravens at 7:30PM ET.

The independent neurologist who cleared RGIII to play tonight against the Ravens has backtracked and has decided that the quarterback shouldn’t suit up.

The Redskins had announced on Thursday that Griffin was cleared to play after suffering a concussion last week in the team’s preseason win over the Lions, but now it appears Kirk Cousins will start versus the Ravens.

The entire situation has brought confusion in Washington, as RGIII indicated that he could have stayed in the game last week versus the Lions and Redskins players were unsure as of Friday night who would start under center versus the Ravens. Either way, it’s probably a good thing that RGIII doesn’t play considering how badly he was beat up by Detroit last Thursday. Might as well save the licks until the regular season starts.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book GT Bets, the Ravens are 4-point home favorites versus the Redskins for tonight’s 7:05PM ET kickoff. The total is currently sitting at 43.5 points.
