Rivera has fire at home
CHARLOTTE, NC (TheSpread) – Carolina coach Ron Rivera has enough on his plate in preparing for the Seattle Seahawks this week, but Rivera and his family avoided tragedy on Monday as their home caught fire.
Rivera’s Carolina home caught fire Monday morning, but thankfully smoke alarms alerted the coach and he was able to get his family out safely before the blaze did significant damage to his home. The estimated cost of damage is around $500,000.
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Carolina is a big underdog at Seattle in Saturday night’s game, as the Panthers are getting odds of +10.5 points against the Seahawks. The over/under total for the game has been set at 40 points.
Carolina has now won five straight games following the Panthers beating the Cardinals 27-16 on Saturday in the opening round of the playoffs. The Panthers went 8-8 against the spread during the regular season, including 4-4 on the road. Seattle was 9-6-1 against the spread this season and 5-2-1 ATS at home.
