Wilson has offer on table from Hawks?
SEATTLE, WA (The Spread) – How much does Russell Wilson believe he can command on the open market? Apparently more than $21 million.
ProFootballTalk.com reports word that the Seahawks offered Wilson a package worth nearly $21 million per year, “with significant guaranteed money.” But the quarterback has yet to accept the offer despite being on verge of playing out the final year of his rookie deal at $1.54 million.
For comparison purposes, the top-earning quarterback’s in the NFL are Aaron Rodgers at $22 million, Ben Roethlisberger at $21.85 million, Cam Newton at $20.76 million, Matt Ryan at $20.75 million, and Joe Flacco at $20.1 million. Thus, compared to what other top quarterbacks are making around the league, the Seahawks’ reported offer is more than fair.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Seahawks are currently 13/2 to win the 2016 Super Bowl. Those odds put them behind only the Packers, who are 6/1 favorites to win it all next year.
