Ryan Clark: Steelers won’t make playoffs
PITTSBURGH, PA (The Spread) – Retired safety Ryan Clark doesn’t believe his former team will make the playoffs in 2015.
“I’m really, really trying to get away from my heart, because my heart says as long as Mike T is there and some of those guys, like Joey Porter coaching,” Clark said while appearing on ESPN’s First Take. “I love the organization and the Rooney family, so I want to say the Steelers will get in, but they’re not.”
According to oddsmakers from online sports book GT Bets, the Steelers are 25/1 to win the 2016 Super Bowl, which puts them just behind division rival Baltimore (20/1) in terms of the odds. Pittsburgh also has odds of 19/10 to win the AFC North, while Baltimore is 8/5.
The Steelers still have quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, running back Le’Veon Bell and receiver Antonio Brown so the offense should remain formidable assuming the O-line holds up (which will be difficult without center Maurkice Pouncey, who will miss a few months after breaking his fibula). But the defense continues to be in transition and it’ll be interesting to see how the unit fares now that former DC Dick LeBeau is in Tennessee.
