New Orleans Saints DFS Spin
The Athletic’s Jeff Duncan reports Taysom Hill is expected to start in Week 14 against the Eagles. Brees isn’t expected to practice much as he continues to eye a return in Week 15 against the Chiefs. With a playoff berth clinched, Sean Payton and the Saints can obviously take their time throwing the veteran back under center and lean on Hill for further developmental reps ahead of the postseason. The Eagles have been susceptible to rushing quarterbacks, allowing 108 yards on the ground to Lamar Jackson and a combined 156 yards to Daniel Jones in two games against the Giants, at least giving Hill, fantasy’s QB3 the past three games, a high floor against Philadelphia’s respectable pass rush.
Philadelphia Eagles DFS Spin
Jalen Hurts has been named the Eagles’ starting quarterback for Week 14 against the Saints. This was inevitable after Hurts restored a pulse to the Eagles’ offense in 22 minutes of play against the Packers. Hurts is a 1-2 read quarterback right now, but he will process them much faster than Carson Wentz, who looks like he has been playing in quicksand. Hurts also led the NCAA in YPA (11.5) on non-play action passes at Oklahoma last season. He can throw the ball. Most importantly for fantasy, however, is that he is a real deal dual-threat, one who will be an immediate consideration near the goal line. Despite a tough matchup in a resurgent Saints defense, Hurts offers immediate QB2 appeal with QB1 upside.
Saints vs. Eagles Week 14 Prediction
The Saints have covered the spread in five straight games, are 4-0 against the number in their last four games as a favorite and have cashed in seven of their last nine road games. The Eagles, meanwhile, are just 4-9 against the spread in their last 13 games overall, are 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 games when facing a team with a losing record and are 2-8 at the window in their last 10 games coming off a loss.
