New Orleans Saints DFS Spin
New Orleans running back Alvin Kamara is likely the Saints’ best offensive player. He only had 12 touches in the Saints’ Monday night home loss to the Ravens this past week, and I could see a correction coming. Kamara should be in line for about 15 carries and multiple receptions against a Pittsburgh defense that’s allowing 5.9 yards per play, a figure which ranks 29th in the NFL.
Speaking of defense, consider the New Orleans Saints if you need a DFS defense. They’ll be facing rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett who has really struggled this season. In the Steelers’ past two games (both losses) Kenny Pickett has a touchdown pass-to-interception ratio of 1-4 and he’s taken 8 sacks. You might be able to get the Saints’ defense at a discount, and they’ll likely have some value against a rookie quarterback who’s as limited as Kenny Pickett.
Pittsburgh Steelers DFS Spin
Pittsburgh linebacker T.J. Watt got injured in Week 1 and hasn’t played since. He’ll be activated off of injured reserve and will likely be able to play in this contest without a snap count on Sunday. That could make a big difference in how well the Steelers’ defense performs in this contest.
Pittsburgh running back Najee Harris only had 8 carries two weeks ago in the Steelers’ blowout loss to the Eagles, but he should see some more work in what figures to be a closer game against the Saints this weekend. Harris has carried the ball at least 10 times and caught at least 2 passes in every game but two this season for the Steelers, and he should get a heavy workload as Pittsburgh tries to take some of the pressure off of quarterback Kenny Pickett.
Saints vs. Steelers Betting Trends
New Orleans is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games after scoring fewer than 15 points in their previous game.
New Orleans is 11-5 ATS in their last 16 road games against a team with a losing home record.
Pittsburgh is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following an outright loss.
Pittsburgh is 1-7-1 ATS in their last 9 games against a team with a losing record.
Saints vs. Steelers Prediction:
The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of the worst teams in the NFL. They rank last in the league in average scoring margin and points per play margin and they’re 29th in yards per point margin. I understand that they’ll have T.J. Watt back for this game, but Kenny Pickett is still the quarterback. In 5 games Kenny Pickett has turned the ball over 9 times (8 interceptions, 1 lost fumble) and been sacked 12 times. I can’t take Pickett and the Steelers when they rank in the bottom 4 in yards per play and opponent yards per play. I’ll fade the public and lay the points with the Saints.
