The big news in Chargers camp right now is the situation involving first-round pick Joey Bosa’s contract. According to Bleacher Report’s Jason Cole, Bosa feels that his contract dispute with the Chargers has caused “irreparable damage.” Per Cole, Bosa is “very angry about the situation” and there doesn’t appear to be a resolution in sight. Bosa has yet to practice with the team since June and hasn’t communicated with the Chargers since July 28.
The news out of Titans camp is more positive, especially for rookie Derrick Henry. TitansOnline’s Jim Wyatt reports that Henry was “one of the offense’s biggest stars” during the team’s public scrimmage on August 9. Said Brian Orakpo of Henry: “He has a few things tow ork on as far as keeping his pads down low when he gets down to the goal-line and things like that, but overall the guy is going to be a stud in this league.” Henry continues to work behind DeMarco Murray, but the two should form a nice 1-2 combo in the Titans’ backfield.
OUR PICK: The Titans want to run the ball under new head coach Mike Mularkey, who has implored that his team be tough and physical. The Titans will lean on Murray, Henry, Bishop Sankey, David Cobb and Antonio Andrews tonight, which should mean very few big plays through the air. If both teams commit to the run tonight, look for plenty of long possessions and a low-scoring affair throughout.
