Seahawks big favorites vs. Cardinals
GLENDALE, AZ (The Spread) – First place in the NFC West is up for grabs tonight when the Arizona Cardinals host the Seattle Seahawks at 8:30PM ET in NBC Sunday Night Football.
Seattle comes into tonight’s game riding a four-game winning streak and they have won seven of their last eight to get to 10-4 on the season. They are a game behind the Cardinals in the division, but can claim the tiebreaker over them with a win tonight. Seattle is 7-6-1 against the spread this season and they are 3-0-1 ATS in their last four games and have hit the under in four straight.
Arizona is coming off a 12-6 win over the Rams last week to get to 11-3 on the season. The Cardinals have won two straight to maintain the top spot in the NFC standings. However, they have serious questions at quarterback with Drew Stanton suffering a knee injury last week. Ryan Lindley will start in his place. He has thrown just 10 passes this season. Arizona is 10-4 against the spread this season and 8-2 ATS in its last 10 games. The lone games it didn’t cover in during the stretch were the two losses to Seattle and Atlanta.
The oddsmakers like the Seahawks to claim first in the division, as oddsmakers from BetDSI given the Seahawks odds of -7.5 points against the Cardinals. The over/under total for the game has been set at 36.5 points (View Matchup). Seattle has won three of its last four against Arizona, including a 19-3 win at home on Nov. 23. The winning team has covered the spread in the last 10 games between the two.
This game is a battle of two great defenses and that came through in the first meeting. Both teams were held under 300 yards, with Arizona amassing just 204 yards and 64 rushing yards. Seattle did manage 124 rushing yards with Russell Wilson rushing for 73 yards while passing for 211 yards. Seattle probably won’t need much offense in this game to win, as the Cardinals will likely struggle in Lindley’s first start in some time.
