Seahawks vs. Eagles Breakdown
PHILADELPHIA, PA (The Spread) – The Seattle Seahawks face a tough road test this Sunday when they take on the surging Philadelphia Eagles at 4:25PM ET on FOX.
The Seahawks are coming off a 19-3 win at San Francisco on Thanksgiving night. Seattle has now won two straight by a 19-3 margin to get within one game of the Cardinals in the NFC West. Seattle is now 8-4 overall for the season, 3-3 on the road and 6-6 against the spread.
The Eagles are coming off a 33-10 win over the Cowboys on Thanksgiving to take a one-game lead in the NFC East. The Eagles have won four of their last five, scoring at least 30 points in those four wins. They have also scored at least 20 points in every game this season. Philly is now 9-3 overall, 6-0 at home and 8-4 against the spread.
Oddsmakers think the Eagles can get the job done at home, as oddsmakers from Bovada.lv have given Philadelphia odds of -1 point against the Seahawks on Sunday. The over/under total for the game has been set at 48 points (View Matchup). The Seahawks have and covered in three of their last four against the Eagles and the road team has won and covered in six of the last seven in this series.
The focus of this game will be on Philadelphia’s offense, which averages 416.2 yards per game, against the Seattle defense, which is holding opponents to just 285.8 yards per contest. The Eagles have been posing 286 yards per game through the air, but the Seahawks allow under 200 passing yards per game on defense. Mark Sanchez has played well in place of the injured Nick Foles, as Sanchez has thrown for 1,404 yards and eight touchdowns while completing 63.4 percent of his passes.
