Seahawks favored to win NFC title in ’17
The Seahawks, not the defending champion Panthers, are favored to win the 2017 NFC Championship next season.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book RealBet.eu, the Seahawks are listed with 4/1 odds, slightly better than the 9/2 odds given to the Panthers. The Packers are also in the mix at 6/1, while the Cardinals are 13/2 after advancing to the NFC title game this past season (and subsequently getting blown out in Carolina).
Some of the mid-range long shots including the Cowboys and Vikings at 10/1, respectively, while the Bears are 20/1. The Falcons, Giants, Lions, Redskins and Saints are all in that next group at 25/1, respectively, while the Bucs, Eagles and Rams are all 30/1, respectively. The 49ers have the longest odds at 40/1.
This might sound strange, but the Cowboys might offer the best value at 10/1. Dallas’ defense played well last season but the entire team was hamstrung by Tony Romo’s injury. If Romo and Dez Bryant can stay healthy throughout an entire season, it’s not far-fetched to think that the Cowboys could make a serious run in 2016-17.
