Following their ugly home loss to the Rams last week, will the Seahawks play with pride and at least cover the point spread versus the Cowboys today at 4:25 p.m. ET?
Who Oddsmakers Like: Dallas. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Cowboys are 4.5-point home favorites to beat the Seahawks, who opened as a 3-point road dog before the line was bet up. As for the total, the number hit the board at 47 and that’s where it currently sits.
Who the Public Likes: Dallas. As of Sunday morning, 54% of the betting tickets were on the Cowboys to cover and 54% of the money was also on Dallas.
Who the Trends Like: The under. The under is 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams in Dallas and has cashed in six of the last eight meetings overall. The underdog, meanwhile, is 4-0 against the spread in the last four meetings between these two teams but the Seahawks have failed to cover in seven of their last nine games against Dallas.
Who We Like: Dallas. Did you see what Todd Gurley did to that banged-up Seattle defense a week ago? Now imagine what a well-rested, pissed-off Ezekiel Elliott is going to do coming off a suspension. This is not a good matchup for the Seahawks, who might get K.J. Wright back this week but who remain beat up. That was a pride-swallowing moment a week ago when the Rams came into Seattle and put up 42 points on a Seahawks team that didn’t look like it wanted to be there. Where is this team’s head at right now?
Dallas is the healthier team and has an opportunity to win out and get into the playoffs if it gets some help. The Seahawks are 2-5-1 against the spread in their last eight games overall, are 0-3-1 against the number in their last four road games versus a team with a winning home record, and is 3-7-2 at the betting window in their last 12 games after scoring less than 15 points in their previous game.
