Super Bowl XLIX Matchup Odds
LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – Eight teams are left to contend for Super Bowl XLIX, four in each conference. What do oddsmakers see as the likely final matchup?
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, they see the two top seeds facing off, as the Patriots vs. Seahawks is the favored matchup with odds of +190 to take place. Other likely matchups are Seahawks vs. Broncos (+500), Packers vs. Patriots (+600) and Cowboys vs. Patriots (+650).
The Patriots and Seahawks both have home field for the playoffs, so both would have the easiest path to Glendale to compete in Super Bowl XLI. The Patriots will host the Ravens this weekend in their playoff opener while the Seahawks welcome the Panthers to town in their first playoff game of the season.
The odds clearly feel stronger that the Patriots will make the Super Bowl, as the Pats are listed in three of the four shortest odds. However, the Seahawks are listed in only the two most probable matchups. Seattle will only need to get past Carolina and then host either Dallas or Green Bay. New England will have to beat the Ravens and then host the Broncos or Colts. The Patriots have had their problems with the Ravens in the past, losing in the 2013 playoffs at home, 28-13. They also lost in a 2010 meeting in New England, 33-14.
