Seattle Seahawks DFS Spin
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith is having a career year. He’s first in the NFL in completion percentage (77.3%), and third in the NFL in passer rating (108). He’s thrown for 320+ yards and 2 touchdowns in back-to-back games. He might not keep playing this way, but he’d be a nice value selection as a DFS quarterback. Seattle running back Rashaad Penny is averaging 6 yards per rush this season and he could see the bulk of the carries this Sunday as fellow running back Kenneth Walker III is questionable with a shoulder injury. For a value play at tight end, you should consider Will Dissly. Dissly is third on the team on targets and leads the Seahawks with 3 touchdown catches on the season. He’s scored in every game but one for Seattle this year.
New Orleans Saints DFS Spin
Saints quarterback Jameis Winston is doubtful for Sunday’s game, which means it’s probably going to be Andy Dalton at QB for New Orleans. Saints running back Alvin Kamara practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday through Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game with a rib injury. He’s been trending toward coming back all week and if he’s in the lineup he’d be a good candidate for one of your running back spots. For pass catchers, Michael Thomas is out and Jarvis Landry is questionable, though Saints head coach Dennis Allen sounded optimistic when asked about Landry’s status. To be safe, I think Saints rookie wide receiver Chris Olave is in play as well as fifth-year wideout Tre’Quan Smith. Seattle is 28th in passing defense and allowing 274 passing yards per game, so a few New Orleans wideouts could be in for big numbers on Sunday.
Seahawks vs. Saints Betting Trends
The under is 12-2 in Seattle’s last 14 games after allowing more than 250 passing yards in their previous game.
The under is 5-1 in Seattle’s last 6 games after scoring more than 30 points in their previous game.
The under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings between Seattle and New Orleans.
The home team is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings between Seattle and New Orleans.
Seahawks vs. Saints Prediction:
The quarterback matchup in this game is Geno Smith against Andy Dalton and the total is 45. I think there’s some value in taking the under. I do think that New Orleans will be able to move the ball, especially if they get Alvin Kamara back. I think that Andy Dalton might be a better fit for this Saints team than Jameis Winston. Winston makes too many risky throws and turns the ball over too much, giving opposing teams short fields. Andy Dalton doesn’t turn the ball over as much and he’ll be more conservative and let the Saints’ defense get after Geno Smith. New Orleans’ defense is fifth in completion percentage allowed and tenth in passing yards allowed per attempt. They’ve only permitted 3 touchdown passes all year. I’ll take the Saints and lay the points.
