Steelers favored in SNF vs. Bengals
PITTSBURGH, PA (The Spread) – The AFC North title is up for grabs tonight when the Pittsburgh Steelers host the Cincinnati Bengals on NBC Sunday Night Football.
Both teams have punched a playoff ticket regardless of tonight’s results, but the winner will get the AFC North title and a home playoff game while the other will fill a wild card spot.
Pittsburgh is coming off a 20-12 win over the Chiefs last week for their third straight win to get to 10-5 on the season. The Steelers are 8-7 against the spread this season and they have covered in three straight and six of their last nine.
Cincinnati is coming off a 37-28 win over Denver for its fifth win in six games to get to 10-4-1 on the season. The Bengals are 8-6-1 against the spread on the year and they have covered in two straight and four of their last six games.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Pittsburgh is the slight favorite to win this game, as the Steelers are getting odds of -3.5 points against the Bengals. The over/under total for the game has been set at 48 points (View Matchup). Pittsburgh has won its last two against Cincinnati, including a 42-21 victory back on Dec. 7. The Steelers have covered the spread in seven of the last nine against the Bengals.
The first meeting was a bit of a shootout, with the teams tallying over 950 yards of offense combined, with Pittsburgh finishing with 543 total yards. The Bengals had a pair of turnovers really cost them a chance to keep pace with Pittsburgh. Le’Veon Bell led the Steelers with 185 rushing yards and two touchdowns while Ben Roethlisberger had 350 passing yards and three scores. Andy Dalton threw for 302 yards and two touchdowns.
