Steelers to look to DeAngelo Williams vs. Browns’ last-ranked run defense?

Big day for DeAngelo?

The Pittsburgh Steelers need a win and some help today. Will they rely on DeAngelo Williams to grind out the yards against the Cleveland Browns?

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Pittsburgh is the clear favorite on the road today, as the Steelers are getting odds of -11 points against the Browns. The over/under total for this game has been set at 47 points. These two meet today at 1PM ET on CBS.

Following a very surprising loss to the Ravens last week, the Steelers (9-6, 8-6-1 ATS) no longer control their own playoff fate. Pittsburgh needs a win today and a Jets loss to the Buffalo Bills in order for it to make the postseason. The Steelers may look to utilize Williams in this game to keep it simple against a bad Cleveland team (3-12, 6-9 ATS). Williams has run for 899 yards and 11 touchdowns this season in place of the injured Le’Veon Bell, who the Steelers were hoping to have a huge year.

For today’s contest, oddsmakers have Williams listed with an over/under of 88.5 rushing yards. When these two met back on Nov. 15, Williams had just 54 yards on 17 carries. One thing to note is that the Steelers have had three of their last four losses come when Williams was under 75 rushing yards. Though Cleveland had success in the first meeting, the Browns are last in the NFL in run defense, giving up 135 yards per game. Williams has had four games with at least 89 yards rushing and the matchup on paper favors a big game from the 10-year NFL veteran.
