Steelers vs. Bengals: Will Jeremy Hill score in today’s Wild Card Game?

Can Hill score on Pittsburgh?

Jeremy Hill hasn’t had the 2015 season he hoped for, but that can change today when the Cincinnati Bengals face the Pittsburgh Steelers in the NFL Wild Card Playoffs.

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Pittsburgh is favored on the road in today’s playoff game, as the Steelers are getting odds of -1.5 points against the Bengals. The over/under total for the game has been set at 44.5 points. These two meet tonight at 8:15PM ET on CBS.

Hills leads the Bengals (12-4, 12-3-1 ATS) against the Steelers (10-6, 9-6-1) today in the second of two AFC playoff games. The second-year back from LSU had big expectations for 2015 after rushing for 1,124 yards and 9 touchdowns in his rookie season. However, Hill never really got on track this year, rushing for just 794 yards on 223 carries (3.6 ypc), but he did have 11 touchdown runs. Today Hill and the Bengals face the fifth-ranked rush defense in the NFL in Pittsburgh, which has allowed just 91.2 yards per game on the ground.

Oddsmakers have listed Hill’s rushing total for today’s contest at 52.5. He also has even odds of +100 to score a touchdown in the game. When Hill met the Steelers in Pittsburgh on Nov. 1, he had 60 rushing yards on 15 carries with no touchdowns. In the Dec. 13 meeting at Cincy, Hill rushed for just 16 yards on seven carries with no scores. Hill is coming off a 96-yard performance on 16 carries against the Ravens in the season finale, his second-best total of the year. One of the big questions aside from if Cincinnati can run is will Hill see more carries than Giovani Bernard. Bernard had just 154 carries to Hill’s 223, but if Bernard gets hot early, the Bengals may stick with him. The same can be said for Hill. Hill has run for at least 53 yards in seven games this year and scored a touchdown in seven different games as well.
