Pittsburgh Steelers DFS Spin
Kenny Pickett completed 20-of-28 passes for 174 yards in the Steelers’ 24-17, Week 12 win over the Colts. Pickett added six carries for 32 yards on the ground. The rookie passer made a handful of errant throws in this game and most of his completions were for nominal gains, evidenced by his middling mark of 6.2 yards per attempt. He did, however, have a handful of passes that were dropped. Diontae Johnson couldn’t hang on to a potential touchdown in the end zone and George Pickens misplayed a few off-target but catchable throws from Pickett. Through seven starts, Pickett has no games with multiple passing touchdowns and three performances over 200 passing yards. He will rank as a low-end QB2 for his Week 13 matchup with the Falcons.
Atlanta Falcons DFS Spin
Marcus Mariota completed 15-of-25 passes for 171 yards with a touchdown and an interception in Atlanta’s Week 12 loss to Washington. Mariota’s interception came with Atlanta in second-and-goal with under a minute remaining. Down six with Washington out of timeouts, Atlanta could have run it to keep the Commanders from possessing the ball. Instead, coach Arthur Smith called for a pass that was tipped at the line and intercepted, a fitting end to a play call that should have never been made. Atlanta then took a running into the kicker penalty after getting a three-and-out on the ensuing drive to cap off the loss. Sitting at 5-7 and falling out of playoff contention, Mariota may not be far away from giving way to rookie QB Desmond Ridder.
