Suh’s suspension changed to fine
DETROIT, MI (The Spread) – Just when it looked like the Detroit Lions would be without their top player on defense, Ndamukong Suh’s suspension was overturned one day later.
After receiving a one-game suspension on Monday for stepping on the leg of Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers in Sunday’s 30-20 loss, the Lions defensive tackle appealed the ruling and it was overturned on Tuesday by Ted Cottrell, who instead made the suspension a $70,000 fine. Suh will be allowed to play in Sunday’s Wild Card playoff game with the Dallas Cowboys.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv the Cowboys are a 7-point favorite against the Lions for Sunday’s playoff game. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 48.5 points. The spread hit a high of 8 points over the last 24 hours when Suh had been suspended for the game.
Suh has 53 tackles, 8.5 sacks and 13 tackles for loss this season to lead the Detroit defense, which will enter this game with the league’s top rushing defense, allowing just 69.3 yards per game on the ground. Dallas has the NFL’s leading rusher in DeMarco Murray, who has rushed for 1,845 yards and 13 touchdowns this season.
