Sunday Cross-Sport Parlay: Will Panthers cover spread vs. Falcons?

Sunday Cross-Sport Parlay Sunday Cross-Sport Parlay

Will the Panthers cover as a 7.5-point road underdog in Atlanta? Will the over cash when the Thunder host the Celtics? Read on for our Sunday Cross-Sport Parlay prediction.

Saturday Cross-Sport Parlay Recap

My cross-sport parlay on Saturday consisted of the over in the Wild-Hurricanes matchup (loss), the under 24.5 in the first half of the Bengals-Steelers game (win), the Buffalo Bulls -3.5 against the Liberty Flames in the final non-playoff bowl game of the college football season (win) and the Pacers -1.5 versus the Suns (win). I’ll take a 3-1 day, but I needed a couple more goals in the Minnesota-Carolina matchup in order to cash the parlay.

NFL Sunday Cross-Sport Parlay: Carolina Panthers +7.5 (-114), 1:00 p.m. ET

The Falcons’ season essentially ended last Sunday night in Washington, D.C. thanks to poor clock management by overmatched head coach Raheem Morris. (I’ll spare everyone the details of how badly Morris botched the clock at the end of both halves.) In fact, one could argue that Morris botched the Kirk Cousins/Michael Penix Jr. situation as well. Cousins’ immobility and diminished arm strength were apparent all the way back in Week 10, when the Falcons lost 20-17 to the Saints. They really looked shot in Denver the following week, yet Morris stuck with Cousins through two more losses before finally pulling the plug in Week 16.

Regardless, the Falcons may win this game but the Panthers will give them a battle. Carolina has long been out of the playoff race but the team has showed some grit in the second half of the season. Morris and his coaching staff should keep this game closer than it should be. Atlanta needs a win against Carolina and New Orleans to beat Tampa Bay. While I definitely don’t envision the Saints upsetting the Bucs, I don’t even like the Falcons to cover at home today.

NHL Sunday Cross-Sport Parlay: Penguins-Hurricanes under 6.5 (-124), 6:10 p.m. ET

In the last 10 meetings between these two teams, the under is 9-1. That includes the Hurricanes 5-1 victory over the Penguins on November 7 of this season, when the total was set at 6.5. In fact, the over/under has been 6.5 for the last six consecutive meetings between these two teams and the Penguins and Canes didn’t combine for enough goals to cash the over in any of those contests. The last time these two teams scored enough to hit the over was December 22, 2022 when the number sat at 5.5 for a meeting in Pittsburgh.

NBA Sunday Cross-Sport Parlay: Celtics-Thunder over 222.5 (-110), 3:40 p.m. ET

The over has been profitable in previous meetings between these two teams. In the last 10 Boston-Oklahoma City matchups, the over is 8-2. That includes a seven-game over streak between the two squads. The last under that hit when the Celtics faced the Thunder was all the way back in March of 2021. The over has also cashed in four out of Boston’s last six games.

CBB Sunday Cross-Sport Parlay: Kanas-UCF under 148.5, 4:00 p.m. ET

The under is a near-perfect 11-1 in the Jayhawks’ 12 games this season. In fact, the under is a perfect 10-0 in the Jayhawks’ last 10 games. These two teams met a year ago in Orlando and the under cashed in the Knights’ 65-60 upset of the Jayhawks.

From a metrics standpoint, Kansas has a 10.0 defensive rating according to ESPN’s BPI. That’s one of the strongest defensive ratings in the country. While UCF isn’t in the same arena as KU from a defensive metric standpoint, the Knights are still have a respectable 5.4 rating.

4-Leg Cross-Sport Parlay Odds: +1135 (Fanduel Sportsbook)
