Packers vs. Texans Week 6 Odds
HOUSTON, TX (The Spread) – The Texans will put their undefeated record on the line this Sunday night when they host the Packers at 8:20PM ET.
GREEN BAY: The Colts shocked the Packers 30-27 as a 6.5-point home underdog last Sunday. The loss dropped Green Bay’s record to 2-3 on the year and 1-4 against the spread, while the over is now 3-2 in the Packers’ first five games. Green Bay has failed to cover the spread in three straight weeks, all as a favorite. Aaron Rodgers has thrown for 1,299 yards on the season, while James Jones has a team-high five touchdowns. Cedric Benson, who leads the team in rushing with 248 yards, was placed on IR with an injury. The Packers’ running game obviously takes a hit with his loss.
HOUSTON: The Texans are now 5-0 overall after they beat the Jets 23-17 on Monday Night Football. They failed to cover the spread as a 9.5-point favorite, however, and are now 4-1 against the number this season. The under is also 3-2 in Houston’s first five games, and covered last week (40.5). Arian Foster has a team-high 532 rushing yards and six touchdowns, while Matt Schaub has thrown for 1,162 yards this season. The Texans are cruising in the AFC South thus far.
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Texans are 3.5-point favorites over the Steelers, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 47.5 points. The Texans enter this game with a straight up record of 5-0 and are 2-0 at home, while the Packers are 2-3 overall and 0-2 on the road.
TRENDS: The Packers are 9-2 against the spread versus a team with a winning record and 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games in Week 6. But they’re 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall and 0-4 ATS in their last four road games. The Texans, meanwhile, are 3-0-1 ATS in their last four home games and 12-3-2 ATS in their last 17 games overall.
