Super Bowl 51 Picks: What are the best Atlanta Falcons Prop Bets? 2/5/17

Best Falcons Super Bowl 51 Prop Bets

What are the best prop bets for the Falcons in Super Bowl 51? We’ve compiled the props that offer the best value for bettors.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Falcons remain 3-point underdogs versus the Patriots for Super Bowl 51, while the over/under currently sits at 58.5 points. As of Sunday morning, neither the point spread nor the total has moved in the two weeks leading up to today’s game.

Bet Super Bowl LI Patriots vs. Falcons

Matt Ryan OVER 38.5 Total Pass Attempts

If the Patriots wind up shutting down Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman, the Falcons will be forced to put the ball in the air plenty throughout tonight’s game. Ryan averaged just over 33 pass attempts during the regular season but the Falcons may have to keep throwing the ball in the second half to either keep pace with the Patriots or to come back if they fall behind. It’ll be close, but Ryan should go over the 38.5 in pass attempts.

Devonta Freeman UNDER 13.5 Total Rushing Attempts

The Patriots finished with the No. 3 overall defense against the run so Freeman could have a difficult time finding running room tonight against New England’s defense. Plus, Coleman is also likely to carve out a significant role in Kyle Shanahan’s offensive game plan, which will limit how many carries Freeman gets throughout the course of the game. We project that Freeman will finish just under his total rushing attempts.

Julio Jones OVER 6.5 Total Receptions

Even if the Patriots double-team Jones, he’ll still get fed. He’ll have to if the Falcons are going to create big plays offensively. Matt Ryan has proven this season that he’ll move the ball around if Jones isn’t open, but at some point Kyle Shanahan will need to feed his best player. We project that Jones will finish just over this total at 7 receptions.

Taylor Gabriel UNDER 3.5 Total Receptions

Gabriel has drawn praise from talking heads for the added dimension that he has brought to this Atlanta offense, but his role has been slightly exaggerated. He only averaged 2.69 receptions per game during the regular season and has been rather quiet in the postseason. He may catch 2-3 passes tonight but it’s unlikely he’ll get to four-plus. There’s just too many other mouths to feed in this Atlanta offense.
