Super Bowl 51 Prediction
Kickoff to Super Bowl 51 is drawing near. Will the Patriots cover as a small favorite versus the Falcons?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Patriots are a 3-point favorite versus the Falcons for Super Bowl Sunday, while the over/under sits at 58.5 points. The point spread for this matchup hasn’t moved over the last two weeks and neither has the total, which indicates sports books are garnering good two-way action on the game.

NEW ENGLAND INJURY REPORT: Tight end Martellus Bennett is officially questionable with a knee injury. In fact, he’s dealing with injuries to both his knee and ankle, but chances are high he’ll play versus the Falcons. Defensive tackle Alan Branch is also questionable with a toe injury, as is linebacker Don’t’a Hightower, who is dealing with a shoulder ailment. Receivers Malcolm Mitchell (knee) and Chris Hogan (thigh) are questionable as well, but both are expected to play.
ATLANTA INJURY REPORT: Julio Jones wasn’t on the official final injury report for the Falcons and while he won’t be 100 percent due to a toe injury, he will play. The other significant injury that drew some concern earlier in the week for the Falcons was Alex Mack’s fibula. Mack suffered the injury in the Falcons’ 44-21 win over the Packers in the NFC Championship Game and despite having two weeks off to rest the leg, the center isn’t 100 percent. Mack will suit up, but we’ll see how effective he is on the injury once the game gets rolling.

OUR PREDICTION: If the Falcons can turn this game into a track meet then the Patriots will have a difficult time keeping pace. That’s not to suggest that New England will get blown out – Tom Brady and Co. never do. But the Falcons’ speed is one of the more underrated storylines heading into tonight’s game. They have speed not only on offense with Jones, Devonta Freeman, Tevin Coleman, Mohamed Sanu and Taylor Gabriel, but also on defense thanks to Vic Beasley, Deion Jones and Keanu Neal, to name a few. Brady will make plays, but Matt Ryan put together a MVP season and will prove to be a worthy adversary.
