Lockette retiring from Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks are losing another skill-position player from last year’s team as receiver Ricardo Lockette is expected to announce his retirement today.
Lockette suffered a serious neck injury last season and it appears the injury is great enough to force the four-year receiver to retire. Lockette wasn’t a major part of the Seattle offense, but does alter the depth. With the loss of Marshawn Lynch to retirement, the Seahawks could have a different offense next season.
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Seahawks are among the favorites to win Super Bowl LI next season, as they are listed with 9/1 odds. Seattle also has been given 5/1 odds to win the NFC Championship, while the over/under total for wins for Seattle is set at 10.5.

Lockette had just four receptions last season for 69 yards with one touchdown before suffering his season-ending injury. Seattle was able to establish Doug Baldwin as a top receiver in 2016. Baldwin caught 78 passes for 1,069 yards and 14 touchdowns. The Seahawks also have Jimmy Graham to throw to, but the team didn’t add a receiver through the NFL Draft until the seventh round.
