Eagles D Presents Problem for Brady
A lot of the talk surrounding Super Bowl LII will be on the differences of the two quarterbacks but one unit not to be overlooked is the Eagles defense.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Patriots are 5-point favorites to knock off the Eagles in Super Bowl LII. The total currently sits at 48 points. As of Wednesday morning, 57% of betting tickets wagered online for this game were placed on Philadelphia.

One reason to believe in yet another Philly upset is the Eagles defense. The team ranked fourth in the regular season in both scoring defense (18.4 points per game) and total defense (306.5 yards per game) and have been even better in the postseason.
The Eagles have allowed 17 points so far this postseason, or 8.5 points per game in their two playoff games. According to ESPN.com, only four teams in the last 20 seasons have allowed fewer points per game in the postseason prior to reaching the Super Bowl. That’s incredible.
Where Philadelphia has thrived this postseason is with its red zone defense. Opponents Atlanta and Minnesota reached the red zone six times against the Eagles in the playoffs and only twice did they walk away with points. In fact, each of the last four red zone drives against the Eagles this postseason have resulted in no points.
Taking a deeper dive, the Eagles allowed 79.2 rushing yards per game this season, which was fewest in the NFL and fewest for Philadelphia since the team allowed 71.0 rushing yards per game in 1991. The Eagles’ pass rush is also nasty, recording 38 sacks (tied for 15th) and generating pressure on 28% of their dropbacks (13th).
Brady is the GOAT but he’ll have his hands full against Fletcher Cox and Co. come Super Bowl Sunday.
