Even though they’re banged-up entering the NFL playoffs, the Detroit Lions are favored to win Super Bowl LIX. Which teams have comparable odds? Which teams are long shots to win it all?
Super Bowl LIX Odds: The Favorite
By virtue of their 31-9 victory over the Vikings on Sunday Night Football (as well as their impressive 15-2 record this season), the Lions earned the No. 1 seed in the NFC. No team averaged more points per game this season than the Lions at 33.2. They were also 2nd in passing yards per game (263.2), sixth in rushing (146.4) and seventh in points against (20.1). If they were completely healthy, they might be a runaway favorite to win Super Bowl LIX. As it stands now, however…
Super Bowl LIX Odds: The Contender
…the Chiefs have comparable odds at +350. The defending champs earned the No. 1 seed in the AFC and thus, won’t have to play in the Wild Card round this weekend. Kansas City was 15th in points for (22.6) this season, leaving bettors and NFL observers to wonder if the Chiefs are more vulnerable than ever. That said, they were fourth in points against (19.2) and last time I checked, still employ Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid. Those two alone keep the Chiefs in the Super Bowl mix.
Super Bowl LIX Odds: The Other Contenders
The Ravens are +600, the Bills are +600 and the Eagles are +700 to win the Super Bowl. The Bills will host the Broncos in Buffalo on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. ET. Buffalo is currently an 8.5-point favorite and is the No. 2 seed behind Kansas City in the AFC.
Before that game kicks off, however, the Ravens will host the Steelers as a 9.5-point favorite on Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. ET. Lamar Jackson and Co. earned the No. 3 seed in the AFC and once again are one of the most dangerous teams in the entire playoff field. With Lamar and Derrick Henry sharing the same backfield, the Ravens are one of the more intriguing teams from a futures standpoint.
Finally, the Eagles will host the Packers on Sunday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. ET. Philadelphia is the No. 2 seed in the NFC and is a 5-point favorite to beat Green Bay. The Eagles are 11-6 against the spread this season and any team having to play at Lincoln Financial Field in January will have its challenges.
Super Bowl LIX Odds: The Mid-Range Long Shots
The aforementioned Packers are +1600 to win Super Bowl LIX, then there’s a steep drop off to the Bucs at +3000. The Rams, Commanders and Chargers are all +3500, respectively. Los Angeles is one of only two road teams favored Wild Card Weekend, as the Bolts are 3-point favorites in Houston on Saturday afternoon. The Bucs, meanwhile, will host the Commanders on Sunday Night Football at 8:15 p.m. ET. Tampa Bay is currently a 3-point home favorite against a Washington team that it beat in Week 1 of the season.
As previously mentioned, there are two road teams favored to win Wild Card Weekend. One is the Chargers and the other is the Vikings, who are 2-point road favorites in Los Angeles. Minnesota is currently +1400 to win Super Bowl LIX.
Super Bowl LIX Odds: The Long Shots
The Texans, Steelers and Broncos are all +6500 to win Super Bowl LIX.
