Updated Super Bowl LVI Odds
Despite losing to Tom Brady and the Bucs in the Super Bowl last season, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are now the updated favorites to win Super Bowl LVI.
The Favorite
According to oddsmakers from FanDuel Sportsbook, the Chiefs are +500 to win Super Bowl LVI, followed by the Bucs at +650. Kansas City spent the offseason concentrating on its offensive line after a disastrous performance in the Super Bowl last year. The team signed OL Joe Thuney to a five-year, $80 million contract and traded a first-round pick for offensive tackle Orlando Brown. The Chiefs also gave one-year deals to guard Kyle Long and tackle Mike Remmers.
The Challenger
The Bucs have the next-best odds to win Super Bowl LVI at +650. The team essentially brought back everyone from their Super Bowl run a year ago, including receivers Chris Godwin (franchise tag) and Antonio Brown (one-year), tight end Rob Gronkowski (one-year, $8 million), defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh (one year, $8 million), linebackers Shaq Barrett (four years, $68 million) and Lavonte David (two years, $25 million), as well as running back Leonard Fournette (one year, $4 million). If Aaron Rodgers doesn’t return to the Packers, the Bucs could run through the NFC like a hot knife through butter this season.
Other Contenders
The Bills have the next-best odds following the Chiefs and Bucs to win the Super Bowl at +1200, while the 49ers are +1300 and the Rams and Ravens are +1400, respectively. The Borwns have +1600 odds, the Packers have +1700 odds and the Seahawks are +2300. The Colts will also be in the mix at +2500, followed by the Titans and Cowboys at +2800.
The Live Long Shots
The Saints will no longer have Drew Brees under center but Jameis Winston could keep them in playoff contention. Sean Payton’s team is +3000 to win the Super Bowl, as are the Dolphins and Broncos, respectively. The Chargers and Patriots are both +3200, respectively, followed by the Vikings at +4000. The Steelers and Cardinals are +4400, respectively, followed by the Bears at +4800.
The True Long Shots
The Falcons and Washington Football Team are both +5000, respectively, to win the Super Bowl, followed by the Giants at +6500 and the Panthers at +7000. The Randers are +7500, followed by the Eagles +8500. The Jets, Bengals and Jaguars are all +10000, while the Lions are +15000 and the Texans have the longest odds on the board at +18000.
