Below is our predictions for Super Bowl prop bets centered on Patriots wide receiver Chris Hogan.
Bet Patriots vs. Eagles Super Bowl LII
Chris Hogan Total Receptions: Under 2.5
Hogan should record a couple of receptions but he’s projected to fall short of three receptions at fantasy websites like 4for4.com. He only caught one pass for four yards against the Titans in the Divisional Round and hauled in two passes for 20 yards versus the Jaguars in the AFC Championship Game. Now, he was targeted four times in both games so he had an opportunity to get over that 2.5-catch mark in the Super Bowl if he sees the same amount of opportunities. Still, he has yet to catch more than two passes in a game since October 29 against the Chargers. Granted, he was banged-up throughout November and December but the Patriots are a rhythm offense and Tom Brady clearly has better chemistry with Tom Gronkowski and Danny Amendola.
Chris Hogan Total Receiving Yards: Under 37.5
Seeing as how I don’t think Hogan will catch more than a couple of passes it’s not a good bet to take the over in his receiving yardage. Again, you’ll have to go back to that October 29 win over the Chargers for the last time Hogan had more than two catches and 20 yards. There are a ton of option routes in New England’s offense and with Brady peppering Gronk and Amendola with targets (Dion Lewis, too), there isn’t enough room for Hogan. He’ll catch 2 passes for about 20 yards and call it a day.
Chris Hogan Longest Reception: Under 19.5
I don’t think he’ll rack up more than 20 receiving yards for the game, nevertheless on one pass. Brady doesn’t throw outside the numbers and deep a lot so most of Hogan’s receptions will come underneath.
