Titans impressive at Dallas
The Tennessee Titans stopped a three-game losing streak on Monday night with an impressive 28-14 win at Dallas. The Titans moved to 4-4 with the victory and they are 5-3 against the spread and 5-3 with the under. They have covered in their last two games.
The Titans have been led this season by their defense, which is allowing just 17.6 points and 346.3 yards per game. They have just 20 sacks and have forced only nine turnovers, but just play well as a unit. Offensively, Tennessee has struggled to produce. The Titans average only 16.8 points and 308.3 yards per game this season. Marcus Mariota has thrown for 1,270 yards and five touchdowns with five interceptions. He has been sacked 23 times as well. Dion Lewis is the leading rusher with 339 yards and a touchdown while Corey Davis is the leading receiver with 36 catches for 451 yards and a score.
Patriots rolling along
The New England Patriots continued their win streak last Sunday, posting a 31-17 win over the Green Bay Packers for their sixth consecutive victory. New England is now 7-2 on the season 6-3 against the spread and 5-4 with the under. They have covered the spread in three straight games.
The Pats continue to put up numbers on offense, averaging 30 points and 397.3 yards per game. Tom Brady has thrown for 2,494 yards and 17 touchdowns with just seven interceptions. He was without his tight end in Rob Gronkowski last week due to ankle and back injuries. Gronk will sit out this game today as well. Brady utilizes James White a lot in the pass game. White has 61 catches for 531 yards and six touchdowns. The Pats should get rookie running back Sony Michel today. He has missed the last few games with a knee injury. Michel has 422 rushing yards and four scores in 2018.
NFL Betting Trends
Tennessee
Tennessee is 5-1 against the spread in their last six home games and 10-3 ATS in their last 13 against a winning team.
New England
The Patriots are 11-2 against the spread in their last 13 games on grass and 16-5 ATS in their last 21 road games.
Prediction:
The Titans are a feisty team, but they have been beaten up by lesser teams than New England. The Patriots may not have Gronk, but that didn’t stop them from handling the Packers last week. Brad and the Pats have won three straight by at least seven and I see them using their short pass game to pick apart the Titans while Michel gives the team an added boost out of the backfield. Look for New England to outclass Tennessee.
NFL Prediction: New England Patriots -6.5
