Texans currently favored to land RGIII
Which team will Robert Griffin III play for in 2016? According to oddsmakers, the Texans have the best odds of anyone.
Oddsmakers from online sports book RealBet.eu currently list the Texans with 3/2 odds to land RGIII this offseason. He must be on the Week 1 roster in order for the wager to count.
The Cowboys are the team listed with the next best odds at +180. That might be somewhat surprising given how Tony Romo remains the starter in Dallas, although RGIII played his college ball at Baylor and might want to return to Texas if/when he’s released by the Redskins.
The other teams listed with odds are the Browns at 5/1, the Rams at 8/1, the 49ers at 14/1, the eagles at 15/1, the Dolphins and Jets at 25/1, respectively, and the Bears at 30/1. “Any CFL Team” also has odds of 10/1.
Washington GM Scot McCloughan in January that the team may not make the final decision on RGIII’s future until March 9. The Redskins could have released the quarterback on Monday of this week but McCloughan may wait until the first day of the new league to make a final decision. At 4:00PM ET on March 9 is when the new league year begins and when Griffin’s $16-plus million option becomes fully guaranteed. Chances are he’ll be cut before then with the Redskins ready to commit to Kirk Cousins long-term.
