HOUSTON, TX (The Spread) – The Houston Texans look to secure a winning season on Sunday when they host the Jacksonville Jaguars at 1PM ET.

Houston is coming off one of its best wins of the season last week, beating Baltimore at home 25-13 despite having to start Case Keenum at quarterback, a man who was on St. Louis’ practice squad a week prior. The Texans have won three of their last four to get to 8-7 on the season and they are 9-5-1 against the spread on the season. Houston is 3-0-1 ATS in its last four games and it has hit the under in five of its last six.

Jacksonville is coming off a 21-13 win over the Titans last Thursday to get to 3-12 on the season. The Jaguars have yet to win a road game this season and they come into this game 5-9-1 against the spread on the season. Despite that record, Jacksonville has played well as of late, going 3-1 ATS in its last four. The Jags have also hit the under in their last three games.

According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv Houston is the favorite to win this game, as the Texans are getting odds of -10 points against the Jaguars. The over/under total for the game has been set at 40.5 points (View Matchup). Houston has won six of its last eight against Jacksonville, including a 27-13 victory on Dec. 7 at Jacksonville. The Jaguars have covered the spread in three of the last four meetings.

In the Dec. 7 meeting at Houston, it was a game dominated by defense, as the Jaguars were held to 262 total yards, while Houston amassed just 304 yards of offense. Houston was able to grind out the game thanks to its run game, which had 169 yards. Arian Foster led the way with 127 rushing yards and a touchdown on 24 carries. J.J. Watt led the Houston defense with three sacks and five quarterback hits.
