Houston Texans Daily Fantasy Spin
Texans center Juice Scruggs (foot), defensive tackle Folorunso Fatukasi (ankle), tight end Cade Stover (appendix), wide receiver John Metchie III (shoulder), and safety Jalen Pitre (pectoral) have all been ruled out for Saturday’s game.
Houston linebacker Christian Harris (ankle) didn’t practice Thursday and is officially listed as questionable for this weekend’s game. Harris had 8 total tackles in his first game of action last weekend against Miami.
Kansas City Chiefs Daily Fantasy Spin
Chiefs safety Chamarri Conner (concussion) and offensive tackle D.J. Humphries (hamstring) will both sit out Saturday’s home date with the Texans. Conner is listed as the team’s starting nickel back while Humphries is listed as the team’s backup left tackle on the unofficial depth chart.
Kansas City linebacker Leo Chenal (illness) is questionable for Saturday’s contest. The 2022 third-round pick has 51 total tackles in 14 games of action this year.
Chiefs wide receiver Hollywood Brown hasn’t been activated off of injured reserve as of this writing. The former Raven practiced fully on Thursday and won’t carry an injury designation heading into Saturday’s game.
Texans vs. Chiefs Betting Trends
Houston is 4-6 ATS in their last 10 games against Kansas City.
Houston is 3-5-1 ATS in conference games this season.
Kansas City is 22-20-1 ATS when playing an opponent on equal rest since the start of the 2021 season.
Kansas City is 41-34-3 ATS in non-division games since the beginning of the 2019 season.
Texans vs. Chiefs Betting Prediction:
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes suffered a high ankle sprain during the fourth quarter of last weekend’s 21-7 win over the Browns. Despite that fact, Mahomes practiced fully all week and will start on Saturday without an injury designation. Mahomes is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and has thrown for 3,348 yards, 22 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions in 14 games this year.
This is a tough spot for Houston. The Texans have to go on the road on a short week to face the team with the best record in the NFL. Making matters worse, Houston is 3-4 straight up and 3-3-1 against the spread in their last 7 games. The Texans have been a bit too inconsistent to me, so I’m laying the points with the Chiefs at home on Saturday afternoon.
