3 Teams on Upset Alert in Week 15
Each week we peruse the NFL odds board and choose three live underdogs with upset on their minds.
Below we have identified several sharp plays so you can bury your bookmaker and bring home the cash!
Washington Football Team vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Sunday, December 19th, 1:00 pm ET at Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, PA
Washington came out flat last week, falling behind the Cowboys, 24-0, at the half but they engineered a comeback that ultimately fell short in a 27-20 loss to the NFC East frontrunners. But now they face the Eagles, a less talented team but one that is coming off of a 33-8 win over the lowly Jets before their bye week.
But it should be known that both Taylor Heinicke and his top target, Terry McLaurin, were knocked out of that game, removing much of Washington’s offensive firepower. Fortunately, they should be back on the field this week and we expect to see the Washington defense give Jalen hurts all sorts of problems in the pocket. The bookies are being too generous as these teams are even in talent yet we are getting a five-point head start with the visitors. Let’s take that as an early Christmas present and make some cash! Upset Alert: Washington +5 (-115) or +185 on the moneyline at BetOnline
Atlanta Falcons vs. San Francisco 49ers
Sunday, December 19th, 4:05 pm ET at Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara, CA
The 49ers are making their case for an NFC wild card berth but the Falcons have been playing better as of late and are entering this matchup hot off the heels of a 29-21 win over the Panthers. Believe it or not, the Falcons are also in the playoff hunt but need this game to improve to .500 on the season. We should also note Atlanta is 5-1 over their last six road games and has beaten the Niners in their last two meetings.
San Francisco may choose a ground-and-pound attack against the 23rd ranked run-stop unit of Atlanta’s and if that is the case then the clock will tick, and this could become a very close game that could benefit the Falcons, especially if Matt Ryan can get his aerial attack on track against San Francisco’s pedestrian defensive secondary. Cincinnati’s Joe Burrow launched for a whopping 348 passing yards in a 26-23 overtime loss to the Niners last week which bodes well for another prolific passer, Matty Ice.
Let’s watch the Falcons keep it close here.
Upset Alert: Falcons +9 (-108) or +340 on the moneyline at Heritage Sports
Seattle Seahawks vs. Los Angeles Rams
Sunday, December 19th, 4:25 pm ET at SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, CA
The Rams are coming off a convincing win over the Cardinals, 30-23, in the desert while the Seahawks have won their last two with the most recent being a 33-13 victory over the Texans. Seattle’s Russell Wilson appears to be fully recovered from the finger injury that saw him miss several weeks and return a bit prematurely.
But now he is on his game and when he is, it’s fair to say he is one of the most dynamic players in the league. Last week he passed for a pair of touchdowns and 260 yards and didn’t have to do much more than that as Rashaad Penny tallied 137 of Seattle’s 193 rushing yards.
Although the Rams looked sharp last week it is not unusual to see a team experience a letdown in their next game after a big divisional win. This is a nice opportunity to let the public go ga-ga over the Rams while the bookies keep inflating the number. That has already happened here as we can get the Hawks +7 with Russell Wilson back in fine form.
Upset Alert: Seahawks +7 (-110) or +255 on the moneyline at Bovada
