Bengals vs. Eagles Week 15 Odds
PHILADELPHIA, PA (The Spread) – The Bengals will look to keep their playoff hopes alive when they visit the Eagles tonight at 8:20PM ET.
CINCINNATI: The Bengals had their four-game winning streak snapped last Sunday in a 20-19 loss to the Cowboys. Andy Dalton completed 20-of-33 passes for 206 yards with one touchdown and one interception, while BenJarvus Green-Ellis rushed for 89 yards on 12 carries. But the defense couldn’t hold a 9-point fourth quarter lead as the Cowboys struck from 10 points in the final 6:44 in the game. The loss dropped Cincinnati to 7-6 as it blew an opportunity to climb within one game of Baltimore for first place in the AFC North. (Both the Ravens and Steelers lost in Week 14 as well.) But the Bengals’ playoff hopes are still alive heading down the stretch. If they win out, they’ll likely secure one of the final two wild card berths in the AFC.
PHILADELPHIA: The Eagles snapped their eight-game losing streak with a dramatic 23-21 come-from-behind victory last Sunday in Tampa Bay. Nick Foles completed 32-of-51 passes for 381 yards with two touchdowns and zero interceptions in the victory. He found Jeremy Maclin on a 1-yard touchdown pass with no time left on the clock to win the game and end a long drought for Andy Reid’s squad. Maclin finished with nine catches for 104 yards and the one score, while Jason Avant racked up seven catches for 133 yards. The loss improved Philadelphia’s record to 4-9 and 3-9-1 against the spread as it covered as an 8-point underdog. The Eagles have now covered in back-to-back games for the first time all season.
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Bengals are 4.5-point favorites over the Eagles, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 44.5 points. Cincinnati is 7-6 overall and 4-2 on the road, while Philadelphia is 4-9 overall and 2-4 at home this season.
TRENDS: The Bengals are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games versus the Eagles, who are 5-0 ATS in their last five games in December. Philadelphia is also 4-1 ATS in its last five games on Thursday but 7-19-1 ATS in its last 27 home games. The Bengals are also 4-1 against the number in their last five road games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall.
