Bears vs. Packers Odds
GREEN BAY, WI (The Spread) – NFC North rivals clash when the 0-1 Packers host the 1-0 Bears at 8:20PM ET tonight.
CHICAGO: The Bears’ 2012 season got off to a great start last week when they crushed Andrew Luck and the Colts 41-21 as a 10-point home favorite. Jay Cutler threw for 333 yards and two touchdowns, while offseason trade acquisition Brandon Marshall hauled in nine catches for 119 yards and a touchdown. With Green Bay losing last week, Chicago has a golden opportunity to take an early 2-0 lead in the NFC North if it can notch back-to-back victories. If the Bears are to win, they may have to do so without their best cornerback, Charles Tillman, who is battling an injury.
GREEN BAY: The Packers got off to a rough start last week when they allowed 30 points to the 49ers, who covered as a 5.5-point road underdog. Aaron Rodgers threw for 303 yards and two touchdowns, but he also led the team in rushing with five carries for 27 yards. Cedric Benson did nothing against San Francisco’s stuff run defense and Green Bay’s defense couldn’t stop Frank Gore, who carried the ball 16 times for 112 yards. The Packers may be without top receiver Greg Jennings tonight, as he’s dealing with an injury and is listed as doubtful.
ODDS: The Packers opened as 5-point favorites but the spread has jumped to 6 as the public money continues to pour in on Green Bay (61% of public bettors currently favor the Packers). The total in this game is sitting at 50.5.
TRENDS: The under is 8-1 in the last nine meetings between these two teams while the favorite is 5-2 against the spread in the last seven meetings between these two teams. The Bears are 2-7 against the number in their last nine games against the Packers.
