TNF Matchup Should be Low-Scoring
Will Thursday night’s clash between the Giants and Eagles fall under the betting total when the NFC East foes clash at 8:25PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Eagles are 2.5-point home underdogs versus the Giants while the over/under currently sits at 41.5 points. Philadelphia opened as a 3-point dog before the line was bet down, while the total opened at 42 before also dropping.

The Giants remain two games back of the Cowboys in the win column but have a steady hold on the first wild card spot in the NFC. They won back-to-back games over the last two weeks and eight of their last nine to run their record to 10-4 on the season. They’ve also been successful at the betting window this season, posting an 8-5-1 record against the spread. They have covered in back-to-back games and in three of their last four contests.
The Eagles, meanwhile, have sunk to the bottom of the NFC East at 5-9. Rookie Carson Wentz has experienced plenty of growing pains in his first season, but nearly led the Eagles to an upset win over the Ravens last Sunday in Baltimore. Had Wentz’s pass attempt on a two-point try in the closing minute of the game not been batted down at the line of scrimmage, Philadelphia would have pulled off one of the better upsets of the week. They did cover as a five-point underdog, however.

OUR PREDICTION: Neither of these teams have been consistent offensively. The Eagles rank 20th in total yards per game, 24th in passing yards and 16th in points per game, averaging 22.6 per contest. The Giants’ offensive numbers are worse, as they rank 27th in total yards allowed, 17th in passing, 30th in rushing and 24th in points, averaging 19.4 points per game. Philadelphia has taken a step backwards defensively over the last few weeks, but New York has posted a championship-caliber defense all season. The Giants are allowing just 17.9 points per game, which ranks third in the NFL. The under is a perfect 6-0 in the last six meetings between these two teams in Philadelphia.
