Titans vs. Patriots NFL Divisional Round Playoffs Predictions 1/13/18

Titans vs. Patriots Prediction

Will the New England Patriots cover the point spread as a double-digit home favorite tonight when they host the Tennessee Titans at 8:15 p.m. ET?

Who Oddsmakers Like: New England. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Patriots are 13.5-point home favorites to beat the Titans, who opened as 13.5-point underdogs. As for the total, the number hit the board at 47 but was bet up a full point to 48.

Who the Public Likes: New England. As of Saturday afternoon, 70% of betting tickets were on the Patriots and 67% of the money wagered on this game was also on the host. As for the total, 53% of betting tickets and 55% of the money was on the over.

Bet NFL Divisional Round Games

Who the Trends Like: New England and the over. The Titans are 1-4 against the spread in their last five trips to Foxborough and are winless at 0-4 at the betting window in their last four games versus the Patriots overall. The total, meanwhile, is 4-1 in the last five meetings in New England in favor of the over.

Who We Like: New England. This game should be a public bettor’s wet dream tonight because I like the favorite and the over. The Titans struggle defensively with two things: Running backs that catch the ball well in the passing game and tight ends. Good luck defending Dion Lewis and Rob Gronkowski tonight, Tennessee. I estimate the Patriots score 31-plus points.

Okay, what about the Titans? Can they score? I believe they can. They’ll be able to move the ball on the ground with Derrick Henry because New England’s one weakness on defense is its run defense. Despite their win last week in Kansas City, this is a weak playoff team but they’re not totally inept. They’ll move the ball and put some pressure on New England, which in turn will force the Patriots to keep scoring.

The over is 7-0-1 in the Patriots’ last eight Divisional playoff games, is 6-0 in their last six playoff home games and is 7-1 in their last eight playoff games overall.
