Titans vs. Texans Week 17 Odds
HOUSTON, TX (The Spread) – The Titans need to beat the Texans on Sunday and receive a little help in order to clinch the sixth and final seed in the AFC.
TENNESSEE: As previously noted, the Titans would need to beat the Texans this Sunday and then receive some help from other teams in order to clinch a playoff berth. That’s because they’re currently behind Cincinnati and Oakland in the AFC playoff picture either because of record (Bengals) or tiebreaker situations (Raiders). But at the very least they have an opportunity to notch a winning season, hand the Texans a third-straight loss and feel good about themselves heading into 2012.
HOUSTON: The Texans may have wrapped up the AFC South and a playoff berth a couple of weeks ago but they’re heading in the wrong direction right now. Following their 28-13 loss to the Panthers at home in Week 15, they were shocked by a previously one-win Indianapolis team last Thursday as a 7-point favorite. That dropped their record to 10-5 on the year and 9-5-1 against the spread as they try and gear up for the playoffs. Arian Foster continues to be the straw that stirs the drink on offense, as he’s amassed 1,224 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns this season. But if Houston doesn’t get more from its passing game then it may be a quick exit for a team that had so much hope a few weeks ago.
