When the odds were released for Wild Card Weekend, the total for today’s Kansas City-Houston game opened at 40.5. But bettors have slowly bet that number down throughout the week and now, according to oddsmakers from online sports book Mybookie.ag, the over/under currently sits at 39.5 points.

The Chiefs have played in back-to-back games where the under cashed in both contests, and the under is 3-1 in their last four games overall. The under is also 3-1 in the Texans’ last four games, which includes a 30-6 victory over the Jaguars in Week 17 when the total was set at 45 points.

In the Chiefs’ eight road games this season, the over is 5-2-1 and 3-1 when Kansas City is a road favorite. The over is also 2-1 in the Texans’ three games as a home underdog this season but the under went 5-3 in their eight home games.

Public bettors have a tendency to bet the over in all NFL games, but specifically in primetime matchups when they’re prone to be watching on TV. Playoff games are no exception, so the line movement in this matchup indicates that sharp action has forced oddsmakers to drop the total.
