Vegas books keeping Panthers at -5.5
While a few online sports books have kept the Panthers as a 6-point favorite for Super Bowl 50, many Las Vegas books haven’t moved Carolina off -5.5.
The Westgate Superbook, the MGM Mirage, the William Hill, the Wynn LV and Stations all list the Panthers as a 5.5-point favorite versus the Broncos for Super Bowl Sunday. Many of these books opened the line at 4.5 but bumped the line up a full point within 48 hours of the number hitting the board.
Oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, meanwhile, are holding firm at Carolina -5.5 as well. Bet Online, Bookmaker and My Bookie all list the Panthers as a 5.5-point favorite, but Sportsbook.ag, RealBet.eu and Bovada.lv all list the Broncos as a 6-point underdog.
As for the total, every sports book either online or in Vegas has the over/under at 44, 44.5 or 45. The total opened at 45 at most books but it started to drop over the last two days. The public generally doesn’t bet the under so perhaps wiseguy action has forced oddsmakers to drop the total at respective books.
