Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said he “didn’t give much thought” to starting rookie Kellen Mond in Week 17 against the Packers. It’s not a great look for Mond, who’s spent most of the season as a healthy scratch. The Vikings will start Sean Mannion, a seven-year backup over Mond on Sunday night. With the Packers heavily favored, it’s possible Mond makes his debut in mop-up duty if Mannion struggles.

Speaking Wednesday, Aaron Rodgers said he isn’t ruling out retirement after the season. “I’m just enjoying this season for this season, and playing next year will definitely be in the thought process,” Rodgers said. He added that he doesn’t want to be a “bum” at the end of his career and wants to go out at a high level. Rodgers also stated he won’t draw it out for months, and it will be a “quick decision.” The 38-year-old is the betting favorite for a second straight MVP award and is playing some of the best football of his career. Maybe winning a Super Bowl would play a factor in his decision. For what it’s worth, Rodgers said his relationship with GM Brian Gutekunst has gotten better since a tumultuous last offseason, and he’s not thinking about playing elsewhere at the moment.

The Packers have covered eight of their last nine conference games, are 6-1 against the number in their last seven home games and are 11-3 at the betting window in their last 14 games overall. The Vikings, meanwhile, are 5-11 against the spread in their last 16 games in the NFC, are 1-4 against the number in their last five games in January and are 4-10 ATS in their lats 14 games after accumulating more than 250 yards passing in their previous game.
