Vikings vs. Patriots Pick
Will Brett Favre’s consecutive starts streak end this week? That’s the question on people’s minds as the Minnesota Vikings travel to Foxboro to take on the New England Patriots at 4:15PM ET on Sunday. Read on to check out the odds and our free pick for this game.
Before we get to our free pick, let’s take a look at the latest odds for this non-conference game.
Oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com have made the Patriots a 5.5-point favorite over the Vikings in Week 8. The over/under total for this game is currently 44 points.
The Vikings enter Sunday’s game with a 2-4 record and have failed to cover in four of their first six games. They’re also 0-3 on the road this year and are 0-3 against the spread away from home.
The Patriots are a stellar 5-1 on the year and have covered in three of their first six games with one push. They’re undefeated at home this year at 3-0, but are just 1-1-1 against the number at Foxboro.
Our Week 8 Free Pick:
As of this writing, we still don’t know if Favre will play or not, but it may not matter. Look for the Vikings to keep the ball on the ground with Adrian Peterson and try to keep the Patriots’ offense off the field. This should lead to a low-scoring game, which makes the under intriguing. Speaking of which, the under is 4-0 in the last four meetings between these two teams and 10-3 in the Patriots’ last 13 games in Week 8. We think Minnesota’s offense will struggle in this one, but their defense will keep Tom Brady and company somewhat contained. Our pick is the under.
