Minnesota Vikings DFS Spin
Kirk Cousins completed 24-of-35 passes for 271 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the Vikings’ Week 15 loss to the Bears. This one ended up being a shootout, 33-27. Cousins passed more times than expected after the Bears went into halftime with a 20-10 lead, but it ended up being a forgettable QB2 finish, something he’s done more times than not this season. Cousins needs negative game script to find a fantasy ceiling. He’ll likely get it next week in New Orleans. Cousins needs two more passing touchdowns to set a new career high.
New Orleans Saints DFS Spin
Drew Brees completed 15-of-34 passes for 234 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception in the Saints’ 32-29 Week 15 loss to the Chiefs. It was a decidedly rusty performance from the hyper-accurate Brees, who somehow played a month after breaking 11 ribs. Coming into Week 15, Brees had completed 73.5 percent of his attempts. The trio of touchdowns gave Brees a solid fantasy outing. His slow start, however, put the Saints two touchdowns behind the high-powered Chiefs — a lead that proved impossible to surmount. Brees only targeted Alvin Kamara six times, a curious departure from his penchant for checking down before his rib injury. Brees should be considered a high-end QB2 next week against Minnesota.
Vikings vs. Saints Betting Prediction
The Vikings are just 2-5 against the spread in their last seven meetings versus the Saints, even though they did pull off the outright upset in New Orleans last year in the Divisional round of the NFL playoffs. The Vikings are also winless against the spread in their last five games overall, are 0-4 against the number in their last four conference games and have dropped four of their last five games at the betting window when playing in December.
On the other side, the Saints have covered in five of their last seven games despite losing two straight outright. They’re also 9-2 against the number in their last 11 games versus an opponent that owns a losing record and have covered in five of their last six games after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous contest.
