Miller an MVP candidate?

Von Miller is getting a chance to play in his first Super Bowl next Sunday. Will he make a big impact in the contest?

Miller missed the Denver Broncos’ Super Bowl performance against the Seahawks a few years ago due to injury, but he is getting his shot this year at Super Bowl 50.

“I remember after the Super Bowl loss, I was sitting in the locker room and you have guys crying,” Miller told ESPN.com. “It’s just a depressing moment. You try to lift everybody up. Lerentee (McCray), he didn’t play either. He came to me and he said, ‘We’re going to get back here.’ He said, ‘We’re going to get back here. We’re going to go out and we’re going to get back here.’ When he said that, I just knew it.”

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Carolina is favored to win the Super Bowl, as the Panthers are getting odds of -5.5 points against the Broncos. When it comes to Miller, he is currently listed with 20/1 odds to win the Super Bowl MVP. Super Bowl 50 takes place on Sunday, Feb. 7 at 6:30PM ET.

Miller has appeared in all 16 games this season for the Broncos and he has a total of 30 tackles with 11 sacks and three fumble recoveries. In the postseason, Miller has six total tackles with 2.5 sacks. The 2.5 sacks came in the AFC Championship win over the Patriots. Miller was a big part of the win, as Denver’s defense was able to put immense pressure on Tom Brady. If Denver is able to do the same to Cam Newton, Miller could definitely be in the MVP mix.
