Week 10 NFL Survivor Pool Picks 11/7/17

Week 10 NFL Survivor Pool Picks

If you’re still alive in your NFL survivor pool, you might need some help. Here are three teams to consider in Week 10.

How we did last week: Our No. 1 option was the Texans but that was two days before Deshaun Watson suffered his ACL injury, so any reason person would have avoided Houston after that news was released. Our other two picks – Rams and Jaguars – both won in blowouts, so hopefully you’ve used our advice lately because it’s been good. (Not too toot our own horn, we’re just proud when we give useful information to help readers if they choose to use it.)

On to Week 10…

Option 1: Los Angeles Rams

If you didn’t use the Rams a week ago and have been hesitant to use them: Don’t be. Sean McVay has Jared Goff playing like a component quarterback, the offense is on fire and the defense is coming together under new DC Wade Phillips. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Rams are the biggest favorite on the board in Week 10 at -11.5 versus the Texans. Tom Savage is horrendous, so L.A. is as safe as they come this weekend.

Option 2: Detroit Lions

The Lions are a 9.5-point home favorite versus the winless Browns and despite coming off a big emotional win Monday night in Green Bay, Detroit is a safe choice as well. Despite losing four in a row prior to that win against the Packers, the Lions have actually played well. That out-gained the Steelers two Sunday nights ago but settled for five field goals in a close loss. Then they completely dominated Brett Hundley and Co. in a place where they never win, so they’re a lot better than their 4-4 record would indicate.

Option 3: Carolina Panthers

The Panthers have re-discovered the formula that made them NFC champions two years ago: Run the ball down opponents’ throats and play soffocating defense. They’ve held opponents to 17 (Falcons), 3 (Bucs) and 17 (Bears) points over their last three games. The Dolphins head to Charlotte on Monday night and are a 9-point road underdog. They’re struggling offensively (despite scoring 8 late points last Sunday night against a bad Raiders defense) and I could envision multiple turnovers by Jay Cutler. The Panthers, who are a public favorite this week, should roll.
