On Sunday, the NFL season concludes with the Super Bowl, as the Philadelphia Eagles face off against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Eagles are the slight 1.5-point favorites for the contest, although it would be unwise to count out the Chiefs after their excellent season.

That was the first and only time lifting the Vince Lombardi trophy in the history of the franchise, though the team did win three titles prior to the Super Bowl era in 1948, 1949, and 1960.
Meanwhile, the Chiefs have been here five times in their history, last playing in a Super Bowl back in 2020, when they lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Out of their five Super Bowl appearances, the Chiefs have won twice, in 1969 and in 2019. Their fans will be keen to add another title to their record this Sunday.
What’s interesting about this matchup is that both teams have identical regular season records coming into this game. The Eagles and the Chiefs won fourteen games while losing three on the way to the playoffs, and they’re both the top-seeded team in their respective conferences. Perhaps most interestingly of all, both teams scored a total of 546 points this season, including their post-season games. The Chiefs might be the underdogs, but they’ve beaten the Eagles the last three times they’ve played.
Patrick Mahomes vs Jalen Hurts
Perhaps the biggest story of this year’s Super Bowl is the battle between the two opposing quarterbacks, Mahomes and Hurts. It’s a historic occasion and a massive moment in the careers of both players. Although Mahomes has been here before, helping the Chiefs win back in 2020, he won’t be taking the game lightly.
The last time the Eagles and Chiefs went head to head, both Mahomes and Hurts had a big impact on the game, with Mahomes in dominant form. Back then, Hurts had only eight starts for the Eagles, but he’s now become a guaranteed starter for his side and will be hoping to outshine his rival when it matters the most.
