Marshall to lead Jets to a win?
The New York Jets hope to clinch a playoff spot today when they face the Buffalo Bills. Will Brandon Marshall lead them to the postseason?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, New York is favored on the road, as the Jets are getting odds of -3 points against the Bills. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 41 points. These two meet today at 1PM ET on CBS.
The Jets (10-5, 8-5-2 ATS) are on a roll, having won five straight coming into today’s game. New York just needs a win or tie, or a Pittsburgh loss or tie, to make the playoffs. Marshall has been a big reason for that, as the 10-year NFL vet is having the second-best season of his career. Marshall has 101 receptions for 1,376 yards this season to go along with a career-high 13 touchdowns.
Today, Marshall and the Jets meet up with the Bills (7-8, 7-7-1 ATS), who are out of playoff contention but looking to avoid a losing record. These two met back on Nov. 12 in Buffalo and the Bills earned a 22-17 win. Buffalo has just the 23rd-ranked pass defense in the NFL this season, allowing 252.9 yards per game. In the first meeting, Buffalo held Marshall to just 3 receptions for 23 yards and a touchdown. For today’s game, Marshall has been given an over/under of 6 receptions and 85.5 receiving yards. Marshall has had at least 6 catches in 10 games and he has had at least 86 receiving yards in nine games. Marshall has had at least 115 yards in four of his last five games, so look for more of the same today.
