Will Johnson score a TD?
David Johnson is now the feature back for the Arizona Cardinals. Will he find a way to score against the Philadelphia Eagles tonight?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Arizona is favored on the road in this game, as the Cardinals are getting odds of -4 points against the Eagles. The over/under total for the game has been set at 51 points. These two meet tonight at 8:30PM ET on NBC.
Johnson has emerged as the lead back for the Cardinals (11-2, 7-6 ATS) due to injuries to other guys on the team. He has rushed for 330 yards and four touchdowns this season, but has 191 yards over the last two weeks, though he hasn’t scored a touchdown. Today the Cardinals meet up with the Eagles (6-7, 6-7 ATS), who are riding a two-game winning streak and tied for first in the NFC East. Defensively, Philadelphia hasn’t been the best, allowing 126.8 rushing yards per game.
Despite Philly’s defensive struggles, one thing the Eagles have been good at is keeping running backs from scoring. They have allowed just three rushing touchdowns to opposing backs this season, which ranks second in the NFL. Oddsmakers have given Johnson odds of -185 to score a TD in this game and odds of +600 to score the first TD. While Johnson may struggle to find the end zone on the run, he could score in the pass game. He has 26 catches for 293 yards and four touchdowns this year. The Eagles have given up five TD receptions to backs this season, which is the most in the NFL.
